The Gentle Giant

The Gentle Giant, was a PMLD production by Bamboozle Theatre, that went on tour across UK schools, as well as internationally to the Arts Centre, Melbourne in 2017.

Based on the story by Micheal Morpurgo, written and directed by Christopher Davies, with puppets designed and directed by Sue Pyecroft.

Set and Costume design by me.

The Gentle Giant is set in a fishing village by a lake, and we developed a design to evoke feelings of being both on a boat, in a fishing village, and even underwater, with sensory props like cold fish, and tactile seaweed. Each member of the audience sits under a circular cloth which is hoisted up and down throughout the performance, to change the scene without having to move.
