Songs Of Alchemy

Songs of Alchemy was an Opera North Youth Company summer project inspired by an exhibition by Bharti Kher at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in summer 2024.

Directed by Jonathan Ainscough, composed by Michael Betteridge, with Musical Director Nicholas Shaw, and devised in collaboration with the Opera North Youth Company.

I designed the costumes for this intensive summer project, in collaboration with the company. Over a series of sessions, including a site visit to the exhibition, we developed the costume concept, and made the costumes over a week long intensive project.
