Coal

Coal is the first part of Gary Clarke’s Thatcher Trilogy. Gary Clarke Company, UK Tour 2017-18 and at the Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen, 2018.

Choreographed by Gary Clarke, and designed by Ryan Dawson-Laight. Associate design and costume supervising by me.

Telling the story of the bitter '84-85 miners strike, Coal uses local women to shine a light on  the Women Against Pit Closures movement, alongside the professional cast of dancers, and live brass band. I was responsible re-costuming each new cast of women and brass band performers at the venues that we toured to.
